Front End Processors (FEP) are intermediaries of a SCADA communications hierarchy to offload data acquisition activities from the Master and to improve channel throughput.

The ST6000 Front End Processor (FEP) sometime referred to as Master Terminal Unit (MTU) provides a communication interface between Remote Stations with the
Master Control Center SCADA Man Machine Interface (MMI) computers. This Front End Processor (FEP) is capable of acting as a data concentrator to acquire data
from difference type of Remote Stations with a combination of different communication media such as PSTN, GSM, PSTN MODEM, VHF/UHF Radio or Satellite Communication without adding any extra processing load on the Man Machine Interface (MMI). Even the remote stations can be built using similar ST6000 embedded CPU and the differences is only on the I/O configuration and software loaded to the CPU.

 

The ST6000 embedded Front End Processor (FEP) is one of the industry most reliable controller which operate 365 days, 24 hours a day on critical SCADA operation without failure.

The ST6000 FEP is designed for easy support and maintenance due to it’s components used is based on industrial most common microprocessor, the Motorola 68000 and other ICs general available in the market today off the shelve. ST6000 provide simple solutions to Hot Backup Redundancy (HBR) feature by using two CPU, one as main CPU and another as standby CPU with data exchange between 2 CPU through the RS485 serial port.

The software for ST6000 CPU written in ANS-C language running in a real-time multi-tasking kernel designed for parallel processing / computation. Modification on application program is made easy by simply modify the targeted routine / software module without effecting other software routine. Data Logging facilities or historical data storage can be implemented in ST6000 FEP due to it’s large non-volatile memory (128Kx2) which is able to store at least one month of

  • SCADATRON ST6000 SCADA Controller is a versatile single board controller card which is stable, reliable, industrial grade design and targeted to ease the work of trouble-shooting and maintenance.
  • ST6000 has built-in hardware driver for LCD and keypad interface as User Input Terminal where changes of setting at the filed is by simple steps guided by pull down menu on LCD
  • Expansion is made easy by adding of SCADATRON EUROCARD type Input/Output (I/O) Module such as 32 point digital input module, 32 points output module, 8 points Analog Input module or 4 points Analog Output Module. Up to 32 number of modules can be added to two parallel Interface Bus.
  • The ST6000 is field configurable to meet individual I/O requirement using keypad/LCD
    terminal.
  • ST6000 can provide direct connection to many standard communication equipment in the market today such as GSM MODEM, leased-line MODEM, INMARSAT-C Satellite transceivers, ORBCOMM Low orbiting Satellite Communicator or VHF/UHF Radio MODEM.
  • ST6000 has direct connection to most type of intelligent sensors such as intelligent power analyzer or modular input/output unit through it’s RS485 multi-drop communication link.
  • ST6000 has integrated historical data storage space or data logging facilities which can store up to 128K of data in it’s non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory with built-in Lithium battery guarantee data backup of ten years without data lost in the event of power failure.
  • ST6000 support flexible communication protocol and configuration which include X3.28, HDLC, MODBUS RTU, MODBUS ASCII and also multi-drop communication mode, store-and-forward (SAF) communication mode, etc.
  • The RTU is designed for harsh environment which minimize the use of connectors and plug in circuit board
  • In one piece of equipment, the ST6000 Controller is a complete PLC‘s CPU, data logger, alarm system and multi-communication device, or data concentrator.
